Hey all, Katosepe here and if you’re here, you probably heard the announcement. We’ll be taking the next couple of days off in order to prepare for the #loveindies event! If you don’t want to read the rest of this, just head over HERE to see what this little event is all about.

The TL;DR, #loveindies is about playing indie games and leaving reviews. That’s it. No official sign-up pages, no demands to review a certain number of games, nothing. Just play some indie games and tell people about them.

I love me some AAA-goodness. I have enjoyed Uncharted, Halo, Assassin’s Creed and all the rest a TON. Sometimes you just want a finely crafted adventure, right? But I also love all the weird stuff. You’ve probably gathered as much if you’ve been listening to this show (I kinda talk about weird stuff a lot…) but I think games can be so much more than just the finely crafted adventures. They can be art.

So, after hearing about #loveindies over on Twitter, I wanted to get involved and what better way to get involved than to dedicate Video Game of the Day to indie games for the event! Starting June 3rd and going through June 14th, Video Game of the Day will be all about indie games. Some of them will be big names and some of them, you’ve probably never heard of. All of them will have the same VGotD-goodness you’ve come to expect. More than just playing the games though, part of #loveindies is to talk about your experiences with the games. So, breaking with tradition here, along with explaining what the game is, I’m going to talk about my personal experience with each game. Why I liked it, why I didn’t like it, etc. And this means one thing…

I HAVE TO ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAMES!

This is why I’m taking the next couple of days off and will start playing through some games to talk about! Check back here on Monday, June 3rd for #loveindies and hey, GO PLAY SOME INDIE GAMES! You may not have noticed but there’s a lot of amazing stuff out there (and it’s way cheaper than a new release AAA game!)

See you all soon!
